The smell of thick smoke awoke Shizuka.
" Mnn ... ? " She awoke , rubbing her eyes while she tried to get up from the bed.

" cough .. smo ..ke , its too thick .. its difficult ... to breathe " She stumbled to the door.

Covering her nose and mouth with her hands , she searched desperately for her younger sister and her parents.

" Mio ... Mio ?! Where are you ?? "

The living room was on fire. There was no sign of her sister or parents.
There was bright light coming from her parent's bedroom.

" Dad ..? Mom ..? Are you there ...? "

The door was left half open. There was not a single trace of anyone in the room.
The room was burning.

" Wheres everyone ..?! " Shizuka cried desperately.

" Onee-chan ... "

" Mio ?? " Shizuka turned around.

Mio's face was covered in soot. She was holding a box of matches.

" Mio !! What are you doing ?! Don't tell me you set the fire ?! "

" ... "

" Why ?! Why did you do it ?! "

" Lonely ... its Mom and Dad's fault that you keep having to go for lessons ... You didn't have time to play with me or enjoy ... "

" Theres no time to talk about this ! We have to hurry and find Mom and Dad so we can get out of here ! "

" Don't bother finding them ... They're gone ...
  You won't see them anymore ... "

Shizuka stood there stunned. Tears trickled down her cheeks.

" You know ... they died pitifully ... They asked me to put the matches down and when they knew what I was doing , they begged me .
  They knelt to the ground but I set the fire on them anyway ... The screams I heard , I enjoyed every moment of it ... "

" Wh... why ... They were our parents afterall !! "

" We're better off without them ... now theres no one to stop us from playing together ... "

" N..no... This can't happen !! "

Startled and shocked by what was happening , Shizuka pushed Mio but she pushed too hard.
Mio landed into the fire. Her eerie screams and cries for help when she was engulfed by flames.

Shizuka stood rooted to the ground. She lost everything.
Her parents , and most of all , her younger sister. She loved her sister more than her parents.
She always doted on her sister and spoiled her.

She couldn't take it anymore. She was too afraid to stay in the house any longer.
She started running towards the door , her legs felt as heavy as lead but she had no choice but to run to survive.
She managed to escape from the mansion with slight burns but her body could no take it anymore that she collapsed.

The firefighters and policemen came soon after . They comfirmed that nobody except Shizuka managed to survive the fire and considered her to be lucky to be able to escape with a few injuries .

" Shizuka ...? "

Startled , Shizuka jumped up.

" Your thinking about that again right ? It wasn't your fault that it happened , I mean , who isn't creeped out by a younger sister like that ? "

" Thanks for comforting me Mayumi , I'm alright now "

Shizuka forced herself to smile.

" See , you look so much better smiling . Lets go home now , its getting late. "

" Wait ... before we go back , can we take a look at something first ? "

" Okay .. if thats what you want "

Mayumi smiled.

After Shizuka became an orphan , she was adopted by Mayumi's parents.
Mayumi and Shizuka instantly became best friends , and sisters. They were so close to each other.
No one could separate them.

They stopped in front of an old mansion. It was going to be demolished soon.

" I .. I feel like going in ... " Shizuka's voice wavered.

" Don't ... please. Its creepy in there ! "

" You can always go home and wait for me there , right ? "

" But.. you'll be alone ! "

" Don't worry , I know your afraid . I'll call you if anything happens , promise? "

" Okay , promise . I'll go on ahead first then "

Shizuka watched as Mayumi walked before she turned to the front gate.

A faint voice whispers in her ear as she walked towards the door , " Don't go in ... its dangerous in there ! "

Thinking that it was just her imagination , she ventured into the house. She walked around what was supposed to be the living room before venturing deeper into the mansion.

She walked towards her bedroom and noticed that she wasn't alone. There was a girl , standing near what was supposed to be the bed . She looked around the age of 16 or 17 .
Somehow , her face was a little familiar .

" You finally came ... Onee-san ... "

" M... Mio ... ?! "

" Of course I'm Mio. Who did you think I am ? "

" B..But ... But you died that day ! "

" Yes... I did die ... I was soo lonely ... So lonely that I begged Mistress to let me come back to take you with me ... You know ... we can be together again ... This time .. I will torture you ! I will burn you like what you did to me back then ! "
